SOClass™ BeBOT™

STRATEGY OBJECT announced the release of a specialized module to perform benchmarking of e-document applications based on SOClass™ products on various hardware and software platforms. The purpose of the Benchmark robot (BeBOT™) is to simulate simultaneously the operation of multiple scenarios of clients requesting specific services from the servers.

BeBOT™ is an effective tool for sizing and optimizing the tuning of server platforms. It can also assist in selecting the best performing hardware and software for particular SOClass™ applications. In addition BeBOT™ has the capacity to "burn" the application and database software before the service is deployed. Used appropriately, BeBOT™ is a promise of - future - consumer satisfaction. As a tool, BeBOT™ is as intuitive as possible and doesn't require an extensive learning process for whoever is familiar with Java™ and the SOClass™ environment. Thanks to the use of XML, it is easy to setup various test scenarios, on any platform.

In the software industry a “BOT” is a tool for digging through code and data, and doing automatic calculations. You give a BOT directions and it bring back answers. The word is short for ROBOT, which is derived from the Czech word robota meaning work. The idea of robots as humanoid machines was first introduced in Karel Capek's 1921 play “R.U.R.,” where the playwright conceived Rossum's Universal Robots. Sci-fi writer Isaac Asimov made them famous, beginning with his story I, Robot (1950) and continuing through a string of books known as the Robot Series. In the software industry, robots have taken on a new form of life: robot-like software is the perfect way to perform the methodical processes needed to produce information for further analysis.
